According to Tom Friedman, the world went from connected to hyperconnected. When he wrote in 2004 there was no Twitter, Facebook and Skype was a typo.
There are no imports or exports but rather “Made in the World”. It may not be that simple. Protectionism and national self-interest may have a different twist to open, unregulated, free for all markets. See recent events at Foxconn as just one example.
